INTERCITÉS, the long-distance train service operated by SNCF Voyageurs, has been connecting Paris to major French cities for decades, through both daytime journeys and its legendary overnight trains. These trains are more than just transport; they are moving snapshots of France, carrying passengers from the heart of the capital to the cultural richness of the country’s most emblematic destinations.

The challenge

Delivering a unified digital experience accessible to all passengers seamlessly

With travellers increasingly seeking connected and tailored experiences, INTERCITÉS set out to transform its onboard service into a modern, digital journey in its own right. The company needed a unified entertainment portal accessible to all passengers, seamlessly integrated into the existing onboard Wi-Fi infrastructure managed by Icomera and Nomad, without requiring proprietary hardware.

The portal had to:

  • Be hardware-agnostic
  • Reflect the brand identity
  • Include content showcasing the cultural richness of the destinations crossed and served
  • Deliver a more engaging experience for every traveller

The solution

Moment was selected through the INTERCITÉS call for projects to modernize onboard digital services. The choice was driven by the company’s proven expertise in the rail sector and its experience delivering robust, passenger-focused solutions already deployed across France with operators such as TGV INOUI, OUIGO, and Lyria.

Our approach combined:

  • Hardware compatibility: A solution fully interoperable with existing onboard Wi-Fi infrastructure from Icomera and Nomad, eliminating the need for proprietary equipment and ensuring smooth deployment.
  • Tailored software: A custom-branded digital entertainment portal designed to reflect INTERCITÉS’ identity and values, with a clean, intuitive UX/UI for effortless navigation.
  • Content Service Provider (CSP): Over 300 media titles sourced and licensed, with monthly updates.
  • Data : Complemented by analytics and performance reports, Moment provides insight tools to continuously enhance the offer.
